Born in Gary, IN, he began public speaking at age seven, winning a city-wide speech contest and speaking at the US Capitol. In high school, he founded the jazz and hip-hop band, Biscuits and Gravy, as the lead singer and was the opening act for notable figures such as Pharrell Williams and Wu-Tang.

In 2017, he merged his musical and teaching passions, creating classroom-friendly songs that quickly went viral on YouTube, gaining recognition from educators and parents alike.
